PARTISANS teamed up with renowned architectural historian and theorist Hans Ibelings to devise an installation that would bring the condominiumization of Canadian culture to Venice. Entitled "An Iconic Address," the proposal explores the ramifications of rapid densification and unbridled development in Toronto and other Canadian cities, and begins to develop a new vernacular for the rampant phenomenon we identify as condominiumization.

In what was intended to be a satirical yet educational gesture, we proposed to build the beginnings of a condo tower on top of the Canadian Pavilion and a sales centre on the inside. The sales centre would double as an interactive display on the history of condominium development in Canada, and the scaffolding on top of the Pavilion would house smaller installations that reimagine condominium amenities and programming.
